Navy Awards SBIR Phase II Contract to Gryphon Technologies, LC
GREENBELT, Md., November 26, 2007 - Gryphon Technologies, LC, a dynamic company committed to serving the national security interests of our country by combining cutting-edge technologies with imagination and dedication, has been awarded a Phase II SBIR contract from the Navy to develop a prototype and demonstrate the integration of advanced digital voice technology to meet future air traffic control requirements.
Gryphon is teamed with Digital Signal Products (DSP) Inc. to design, engineer and integrate a prototype assembly that will function as a gateway between controller communication terminals connected to the Air Traffic Control (ATC) switching system and the ATC Local Area Network. The assembly will incorporate an open architect network and will function in line with analog circuits to simultaneously communicate with future and legacy-equipped aircraft avionics packages.
“Gryphon is excited to be engaged in the development of this important, leading-edge technology,” said P.J. Braden, President of Gryphon Technologies. “We have the answer to the latency and voice-quality issues that will allow the use of digital technology to control manned and unmanned aircraft and provide much-enhanced capabilities to the warfighters.”
